6 broad types of interests
Developed by psychologist John Holland, the RIASEC model starts from a simple idea: our professional interests fall into six broad families. It measures neither your skills nor your personality, but the types of activities and environments where you naturally feel in your place. A valuable marker for understanding what motivates you and choosing a direction that fits you.

The concrete, the hands-on, the technical. Acting on tangible things.

Analyzing, researching, understanding. Solving complex problems.
A · Artistic
Creating, expressing, imagining. The need for originality and freedom.
S · Social
Helping, supporting, teaching. Being in relationship with others.
E · Enterprising
Convincing, initiating, leading. Driving projects and ideas.
C · Conventional
Organizing, structuring, making reliable. Method and rigor.
You're never just one type: you're a mix of all six, with dominant ones. Your three strongest types form your Holland code (for example "SAE").
